Sunday Scribbles | A New Weekly Series

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” | Robert Brault

Introducing a new series to the Anchored Adventure Blog … the Sunday Scribbles! It’s a weekly post sharing an excerpt from my travel journal.

I am a big believer in journaling. Not only is it therapeutic, but [ in my opinion ] it is the best way to remember how you felt in a moment – documenting your experiences, the people you meet and the activities you do.

I never thought I’d share my journal with anyone. I have a vision of my [ future ] kids finding it in 50 years and wondering what the heck was going through their mother’s mind. But I recently had a change of heart, as I think a few parts of it shed light into how life-changing travel can be. I want to share it with you – my raw, unedited, in-the-moment writing.

If you haven’t journaled in a while [ or even if you’ve never ], I encourage you to join me. Ease into it. Perhaps write a few paragraphs each Sunday [ like the Sunday Scribbles Series! ]. And of course, share your thoughts in the comment section below. I’d love to hear from you.

Happy scribbling!

July 31, 2016 | Bath, England

“Drinks at Confessional topped off an awesome weekend! The speakeasy cocktail lounge was built below ground under the arches that hold up the city. The bar theme encourages confessions – oh so shameful. It actually sparked a cool, authentic conversation with Ally [ my travel buddy ]. It made me reflect on what my confessions would be. There are certainly some I am not proud of.

But you know what I am proud of? I am living an awesome life. I have a stronger-than-ever relationship with my family, a man I love so deeply [ who loves me and treats me so well ], the most genuine friendships, a good head on my shoulders, a curious mind, a passion for exploring the world and experiencing cultures different than my own and the maturity to recognize that I am extremely blessed.

Thankful for these two days in Bath – may everyone get to opportunity to experience this beautiful city – both inside and out!”
