Accommodation: Airbnb in the Montmartre neighborhood [ Great location in local, hip neighborhood, which is very close to Moulin Rouge ]
Pretty cool: The Eiffel Tour around sunset. Spend a few extra dollars to take the lift all the way to the top floor. Afterwards, watch the 10-minute light show on the grounds surrounding the tower. The show is held every hour on the hour after sun down.
Don’t miss it: Make a homemade cheese/charcuterie tray, pick up a cheap bottle of wine, and watch the sunset over the city on the steps of Sacré-Coeur.
Wish I had more time for: A tour of the Catacombs, in addition to day trips to Normandy and Versailles.
Must try food/drink: Crêpes, specifically nutella and banana. Also, spend your afternoons eating a cheese and charcuterie plate, while sipping on delicious French wine. There’s no better way to live the Parisian lifestyle.
Here’s a hint: Rent bikes through the city’s bike share program. Bike stations are located throughout the city, and there’s no shortage of pick up/drop off areas.
[ Next stop ]: Activated my Eurail train pass [ which was purchased a few months prior to the trip ] and headed to Bruges, Belgium. Note: I purchased the two month continuous train pass, which allows for unlimited train travel within a two month period.
